What can it touch on my PC?

Permissions PDFNest uses

PDFNest runs as a normal program under your own Windows account. Windows will not ask for administrator approval.

  • Files you choose. It opens only the files you add by dragging them in or using “browse”.
  • One output folder. It saves results to Documents\PDFNest, or to another folder you choose.
  • A small app cache. The app window keeps its data in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PDFNest.
  • Your installed fonts. Text to PDF uses fonts already on your PC. For a few scripts such as Hindi or Thai it may use the Microsoft Edge already installed on your PC, offline, with a temporary profile that is deleted afterwards.
  • No internet use. The app does not upload files, check for updates or send any data.
  • No system changes. Running PDFNest.exe directly makes no changes at all. The optional installer only adds a Start Menu/desktop shortcut and a single anonymous install id — no startup entries, services, scheduled tasks, or browser/search changes.
